A premium mobile CPU for laptops based on the Alder Lake architecture is the Intel Core i7 12650H. It was unveiled in early 2022 and featured 4 of the 8 efficient cores in addition to 6 performance cores (P-cores, Golden Cove design) (E-cores, and Gracemont architecture). When paired with the E-cores, the P-cores’ Hyper-Threading capabilities result in 16 supported threads. On the performance cluster, the clock rate runs from 2.3 to 4.7 GHz, and on the efficiency cluster, it is between 1.7 and 3.5 GHz. The E-cores’ performance ought to be comparable to the earlier Skylake cores (compared to the Core i7-6700HQ). Each core has access to up to 24 MB of L3 cache. Compared to the 12700H, the 12650H has a slower iGPU, fewer E-cores (4 instead of 8), and no vPro capabilities.
